General Retreat T&Cs

Each retreat will have it’s own unique aspects: theme, presenter and location, but some common information is applicable and outlined below. If you have any questions please contact us here

What’s included in your booking:

  • Formal and informal sessions guided by an experienced professional practitioner, as well as private time for writing and resting.
  • Retreat content is guided by the topic and the presenter’s planning, see the specific retreats for more comprehensive details on content.
  • Some retreats might offer one-to-one sessions as an optional addition, see retreats for details and any extra charges.
  • Accommodation and all meals and refreshments are on-site; bedlinen and towels are provided.
  • A gift bag on arrival as a memento of your weekend.
  • Organiser onsite the whole weekend to assist with any issues.
  • As standard, retreats will run from 5pm Friday to mid-afternoon Sunday. Any variations to this will be detailed where applicable.
  • NB: Participants must have passed their 18th birthday at the time of booking.

Accommodation:

  • Unless specified otherwise, each person will be allocated a private room, single occupant. If the venue offers share accommodation you may be able to select this option when booking.
  • The venues vary, so please read all the details of the retreat carefully, before booking.
  • Remember to pack your writing implements, any powerpacks, chargers etc you’ll need, and copies of your work if you wish to reference it or work on it during the retreat.
  • Special requirements: please contact 2FP in advance of booking if you have any special accommodation requirements, as each venue is different.

Meals:

  • Each retreat will be catered onsite, and your booking includes continental breakfasts, buffet lunches and dinners, plus morning and afternoon tea breaks. It is assumed that meals will be taken together in the communal dining area of the venue.
  • All food will be vegetarian/vegan, allowing us to cater for religious and preferential diets, and lower the carbon emissions impact of the event.
  • Please notify us of any food allergies, at the time of booking.

What’s not included in your booking fee:

  • You will need to make your own travel arrangements to and from the venue – to help anyone wanting to ride-share, you’ll be invited to join a private Facebook page upon booking.
  • You will need to bring your own writing materials such as pens and notebooks, laptop, tablet, etc. Remember to pack your cables, charger, etc.
  • You’ll need to bring your own medicines, etc; refer to the specific event details to check if the venue provided toiletries – some do but not all.
  • For insurance and licensing reasons, you are not permitted to bring alcohol into the venue.

Cancellations and refunds:

  • We set our retreats to an optimum number of attendees, to allow for a more valuable experience of both group and solo working sessions. This also allows us to keep pricing as low as possible.
  • The retreat will only go ahead if we reach a required minimum number of guests by the specified cut-off date. If the minimum number of bookings isn’t reached by the specified date, usually one month before the due date, the event will be cancelled; see the specific retreat for exact cancellation dates. Guests who have booked will be kept informed in advance.
  • If the retreat is cancelled by us, a full refund will be issued minus any bank charges. Alternately you can choose to transfer to another course, subject to availability, with any necessary fee adjustments made.
  • If you wish to cancel before the specified cut-off date, a full refund minus admin fees will be issued.
  • Refunds after the cut-off date are only possible if someone can take your place from a waiting list. If you feel it possible that you might need to cancel, you may consider taking out travel insurance.

Waiting lists:

We are limited by the venue capacity as to how many guests can attend a retreat; this also means you get a more worthwhile experience, with the opportunity to interact comfortably with the presenter and our other guests. If an event is fully booked a waiting list will be opened and any vacancies offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
